Felice Torelli

Felice Torelli (Vérone, 1667 - Bologna, 1748) is an Italian painter Baroque of the school bolonaise.

Biography

Born in a family from artists in Vérone with his father the painter Stefano Torelli (1712-1780), his brother Giuseppe Torelli violonist and type-setter of concertos, his son the painter Stefano Torelli and his wife Lucia Casalini (1677-1761) portraitist of reputation, it begins his training at Santi Prunati in Vérone then at Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole in Bologna.

In 1710, Torelli is one of the founders of the Accademia Clementina of Bologna, whose Giuseppe Maria Crespi is member.

Giovanni Domenico Ferretti came to work with him in Bologna.

The pupils of Torelli to this academy include/understand the brothers Ubaldo and Gaetano Gandolfi.
