Felice Gimondi

Felice Gimondi is a runner cyclist Italy N born the September 29th 1942 with Sedrina, close to Bergamo, and was professional of 1965 to 1979.

It was about a large tactician, always with the mounting of the good moment to attack. This quality enabled him to gain many great races in spite of the fact that most of its career proceeded under the era of the " cannibale" Eddy Merckx, more extremely physically, but more impetuous and thus likely to make errors.

Gimondi passed professional in 1965 under the colors of the team Salvarani until in 1973. He then chose the team Bianchi.

As of its first season at the professionals, it gained a great success, the Tour de France 1965. The following year, he triumphs in the traditional northerners Paris-Roubaix and Paris-Brussels. Throughout its career, it gained the many traditional ones and races with stages, and also gained the world title in 1973 with Barcelona.

It stopped its career on road in 1978 with the Tour of Emilie. It made its last appearance as a professional at the time of one Six Days in 1979. With its reconversion, he became owner of an insurance company, manager of a restaurant… and lord of the manor close to Alme!
