Feldbrunnen-Sankt Niklaus
Feldbrunnen-St. Niklaus is a common Suisse of the Canton of Soleure, located in the District of Lebern.
History
Located between the edges of the Aar and the buttresses of the Massive of the Jura, the village of Feldbrunnen is quoted for the first time in 1319 under the name of VelbrunnenThe two villages of Feldbrunnen and Sankt Niklaus are attached to the chapter of Saint-Bear of the town of Soleure until in 1720. At that time, the villages belong to the Baillage of Flumenthal. In 1803, during the Swiss Republic, the two villages is attached to the district of Lebern before amalgamating in a single commune in 1831. Mainly agrarian until the beginning of the 20th century, the common one makes since part of the smart suburbs of Soleure.
Monuments
Halfway between the villages of Feldbrunnen and Sankt Niklaus is the castle baroque of Waldegg. Built between 1682 and 1690 by swaging it Johann Viktor Besenval like residence of summer, it is a typical masonry of the area.
