Feistel horst
Horst Feistel , born the January 30th 1915 with Berlin, dead the November 14th 1990, was an American cryptographe of German origin. Feistel was one of the first university cryptographes. He is the inventor of the Schéma of Feistel used in his algorithm Lucifer and introduced later into OF the and many other symmetrical encryption algorithms per block. He is also at the origin of the term of Effet avalanche, an important property in cryptography.
Biography
In 1934, Feistel emigrates in the United States. At the beginning of the war, it is shut down but on January 31st 1944, he becomes an American citizen. It is immediately built-in within the center US Air Force Cambridge Research Center in the section of the apparatuses identification of the friends or enemy . Until 1950, it works in this field and joined later the Massachusetts Institute off Technology, the Miter Corporation and finally IBM where it receives a reward for its projections in Cryptologie. It obtains a Master in physics with Harvard. In 1945, it Marie with Léona (1924-1990) with which he will have a girl, Peggy Feistel which currently lives in the area of Chicago.
