Fedex

Fedex (Code AITA: FX ; Code ICAO: FDX ) is a American Entreprise and a Airline company specialized in the international transport of freight. Fedex is the syllabic abbreviation of the original name of the company, Federal Express train .

History

Created in 1971 by Frederick W. Smith, his first fleet consists of 14 then 33 Falcon 20 of Dassault Aviation adapted to goods transport with an additional door cargo liner. It is not that in 1982 qu ' it replaced them by Boeing 727 and McDonnell Douglas DC-10.

The first air deliveries start on April 27th 1973 starting from the airport of Memphis where the company establishes its hub.

In 1994, Federal Express train becomes Fedex.

In 1999, Fedex decides to install its hub for area EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) with Paris, airport of Roissy Charles de Gaulle.
