Federal minister of Health (Germany)
The federal minister of Health ( of Bundesministerium für Gesundheit , BMG) is the Ministère German Federal government in charge of the policy of Santé.
It is directed since January 12th, 2001 by social democrat the Ulla Schmidt.
Mission
The ministry is responsible for the policy of the government concerning:
- the obligatory Health insurance and of insurance against the dependence;
- the management and of the reform of the health system;
- of the regulation as regards hospitalization and Drug S;
- of the prevention and the fight against the Drug;
- of the rights of the Handicap be;
- of the health policies on the levels European and international.
Organization
The ministry is a supreme federal administration. The federal budget allots to him 2,920 billion Euro S for 2007.
The federal minister is assisted from a Secretary of State ( of Staatssekretär ) and two parliamentary Secretaries of State ( of parlamentarische Staatssekretäre ). In front of him the delegate for the Federal government for drugs and that are also responsible for the interests of the patients.
The principal seat of the ministry is with Bonn, with administrations with Berlin.
History
The federal minister of the Sanitary affairs ( of Bundesministerium für Gesundheitswesen ) is created in 1961.
In 1969, it is joined together with the wallet of the Family and Youth in a federal minister of Youth, the Family and Health. The two wallets are separate in 1991.
In 2002, it becomes the federal minister of Health and the Social security, receiving detached competences of the federal minister of Work and Social order, Work being joined together with the Economy. The traditional distribution is taken again in 2005.
