Feddan

The feddan is a measuring unit of surface close to the acre.

In Egypt and with the Sudan, this unit is worth 4 200,83 square meters roughly. It is also called feddan masri (feddan Egyptian). When Egypt adopted the metric system, the feddan is the only unit which preserved a legal statute.

In Syria with Alep, this unit of surface varies from 2.295 to 3.443 square meters.
