Featuring

The term featuring (of English " figurer"), often shortened in ft. , feat or F. is often used in music industry to indicate the participation of another artist, that it is important such as for example the song of a Couplet or a Refrain, but also when it is more discrete such as for example the recovery or the Remix of one of these Sample (extracted from French music).

The featuring are increasingly numerous these last years, in particular in the Rap, the R' B or the Techno.
Indeed, in the music Techno for example, often the artists composing the melodies use the voice of another artist that them même.
In the Rap or the R' B, it is current that the albums, and more particularly the individual are produced with:

  • several artists, one for example singing the verses, the other the Refrain
  • a group where the members sing each one a couplet.
An artist still ignored of the general public can also thanks to the featuring with artists of greater fame widen his public and his celebrity.

Note:
