Fay-with-Cabins

Fay-with-Cabins is a common French, located in the department of the Loiret and the area Center.

Geography

The city is located at a score of kilometers in the North-East of Orleans in edge of the Forêt of Orleans and close to the Canal of Orleans.

History

The projects of installations of the zones of activities were at the origin of operation of archaeological diagnoses carried out by the National institute of Preventive Archaeological Research. One, the locality the Gospel allowed the discovery of vestiges of a Gallo-Roman habitat. The other, the Cabin Cognet made it possible to locate some pits dug in sand, and containing potteries of first Old Iron or period of Hallstatt. This work also allowed the discovery of an installation dated from the end of the Middle Ages (15th century), with amongst other things a well, a furnace of potter and very many shards making it possible to restore the produced ceramic forms.
