Fax (Denmark)

Faxe (also written Fakse) is a commune of the Region Sjælland resulting from the communal reform of 2007.

Holbæk is the result of the gathering of the 3 communes of:

  • Haslev
  • Fakse
  • Rønnede

Habitants of the municipality (2007): 35.117 ha. Surface: 404,54 km ².

The city of Faxes

Fax is a town of 3.826 inhabitants (2004) located at the east of the sjælland.
The name of Faxes is of origin norroise and means, " mane of cheval".
Rollo (or Rollon), wire of a chief Viking, first conqueror and Duke of Normandy (in the year 911), was probably originating in Faxes.
