Favrieux
Favrieux is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.
The name of Favrieux would derive from Latin, faber , appointing the blacksmith.
Geography
The commune of Favrieux is to 8 km in the south of Mantes-the-Pretty in the plate of the Mantois to approximately 125 m of altitude. The territory without very marked relief is light inclined of the North-West towards south-east, where the ravine of the bridge Pack-Horse starts, origin of Ru Morand, tributary of the Vaucouleurs.The habitat is grouped in the village, along the main roads, the remainder of the territory is devoted to the oilseeds and cereal field crop. Approximately 20% of the territory are timbered, in particular the wood of the Grinding stone in south-west.
The commune is bordering on Fontenay-Mauvoisin in north, Soindres in the North-East, Flacourt in the south and the Hillock-Saint-Denis and Perdreauville in the west.
It is served by the secondary road D 928 which connects Mantes-the-Pretty to Anet
History
The village was burnt during the Guerre One hundred Year old by the troops of king d' Angleterre, Henri II.

Culture
- Church Our-Lady-of-the-Trinity: small church hones of it Meulière whose origin goes back to XIe century. Bell-tower out of frame placed at the top of the Western pinion in which the porch of entry is. The Cloche going back to 1111 was remelted in 1852.
- Bridge-Pack-Horse: old bridge with only one arch on the old way of Mantes-the-Pretty with Dammartin-in-Serf, crossing the ravine of the same name which marks the limit with the commune of Flacourt.
- Museum of the bicycle: created in 1999 by a collector impassioned in the farm of Drichemont, this small museum present of many original specimens, of which a bicycle with transmission with Cardan joint going back to 1910.
