Fave
The Fave is a French river of Lorraine which runs in the department of the the Vosges. It is an affluent of the Meurthe, therefore a tributary of a tributary of the the Moselle, then the Rhine.
Geography
Fave is born with Lubine with the foot from the Climont in the massive from the Vosges and joined the Meurthe with Holy-Marguerite after a course from 22 km. She sprinkles in particular Provenchères-on-Fave. Its principal affluents are the brook Holy-Catherine resulting from the Large-Pit, the Bleu resulting from Lusse and the Morte coming from Round of applause-with-Laveline, the inflated latter of water of the Blanc Ru .
One finds the name of the river in the denomination of two communities of communes which it is advisable to distinguish, that of Fave and that of Fave and Meurthe.
Hydrology
Fave is an abundant river taking into account the relative exiguity of its basin. The average interannual flow or module of the river to the confluence of Meurthe is worth 3,31 m ³ a second for a catchment area of 178,1 km ². The Lame of water past in the basin is of 586 millimetres, which is raised, close to twice higher than that to the average to France, all confused basins, but also largely higher than the whole of the French basin of the Moselle.
