Promised with Lucius Verus, she marries finally the emperor Marc-Aurèle her first cousin into 145, and is the mother of the emperor Commode. Few Roman sources describe it, Dion Cassius and the Histoire Auguste draws up a not very flattering portrait of Faustine, very unsteady it misled her husband with gladiators and would be implied in the revolt of Avidius Cassius.
It accompanies her husband in his military campaigns (what is worth to him the nickname of MATER castrorum , the Mother of the camps by the soldiers), and during winter 175/176 it dies in Cappadoce with Halala a military camp located close to the Monts Taurus. Marc Aurèle is deeply affected by his death and it receives the divine honors and the name of Halala is changed into Faustinopolis .
