Fashion in 1900

The mode in 1900 or mode of the Belle Time is characterized, in the female silhouette, by a taste for the flexible lines, the curves, the volutes and the Dentelle S, in the direct spirit of the Art nouveau, while the male silhouette remains very sober, very dark and mean, as throughout the 19th century. This unconcern and boom relative gives place to a fashion which oscillates between abundant luxury and desire of lightness.

Evolution of the male silhouette

It there had very little evolution throughout the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, in the very simple Costume three parts (pants, Veste and Gilet) black or sinks carried as well by the easiest men as by the more modest middle-class. The differences, subtle, are done on the accessories: quality of the fabric S, watch with gold chain, canes with carved pommel, Gant S of kid, etc make the panoply of the or society man Dandy.

In the same way, the behaviors of the workmen and the peasants remain very fixed, as throughout the previous century.

The Cheveu X were generally carried short; neither favorite S nor semi-long hair was more in favor. The Moustache was very with the mode, and to a lesser extent, a small pointed goatee.
