Fasciée Trichie

The trichie fasciée is a beetle whose colors and pilosity point out that of a bumblebee. In England, the fasciée trichie is called the beetle-bee (" Bee beetle").

The whole body is covered with yellow hairs, with the exeption of the élytres, which carry yellow and black bands.

The trichies can reach 9 to 12 mm length. The larva develops in the dry-rotten wood, whereas the adults with brouter of the flowers are found. One can see the adults from June to August.

Various names:

  • Trichie fasciée or Trichie with bands (black band close to the thorax)
  • Trichie commune (two black spots instead of a band)
