History

Initially, it was a store of plays of Düsseldorf, Fantastic Shop, created in 1977. This store imported board games étatsuniens as well as roleplays. Because of their growth, the owners, Werner Fuchs, Hans Joachim Alpers and Ulrich Kiesow, created Fantasy Productions GbR in 1983. The first translated products were Tunnels & Trolls in 1983, under the title Schwerter & Dämonen , then Traveller .

When they created the black Eye , the company was not enough solid to support the edition and the distribution of the plays. They thus joined Schmidt Spiel + Freizeit, the second editor of play of Germany at the time.

In 1988, Fantasy Productions amalgamated with the parallel company of importation of Werner Fuchs and Ulrich Kiesow, Importfirma Fantastic Shop, to form Fantasy Productions GMBH in 1988. FanPro published some translations of novels then, like the Cycle of Dark of Marion Zimmer Bradley or Armageddon rag of George R.R. Martin. Collaboration with FASA, started with Traveller , was reinforced and FanPro translated other plays ( Battletech , Shadowrun , Earthdawn ).

The development of the black Eye continued, with the launch of derivative products: novels, video games, a semi-monthly magazine, a card deck to be collected ( Dark Forces , 1994). FanPro undertaken the edition of the black Eye in the place of Schmidt Spiele in 1997.
