Fanny Kaplan (1883 - September 3rd 1918) is militant Parti Russian Socialist-revolutionist .

The August 30th 1918, Lénine, organizer of the party Bolshevik in Russia, is seriously wounded at the time of an attack.

Lénine visited this day a factory of Moscow. When it left the building and before entering its vehicle, Fanny Kaplan challenged it. When Lénine turned to it, it drew three shots. One of them passed through the coat of Lénine, the two others touched it with the left shoulder and the lung.

Lénine turns over in its apartments to the the Kremlin. It fears another attack against him and refuses to leave the safety of the Kremlin to be made look after. The doctors made to look after it were unable to withdraw the balls in-outside hospital. But he survives.

Kaplan was stopped and questioned by the Tcheka. She declared: “I am called Fanny Kaplan. I drew on Lénine today. I did it voluntarily. I will not say from which the Revolver comes. I was determined to kill Lénine for a long time. I regard it as a traitor of the Revolution. I was exiled in Akatui to have taken part in the attempted murder of the tsar with Kiev. I spent seven years over there to be worked hard. I was released after the Revolution. I was in favor of the Constituent Assembly and I am it always. ”

Its weapon had been provided by the terrorist Boris Savinkov.

It was carried out without judgment on September 3rd. A few days later, Petrovski, Police chief of the people inside, encourages the executions: “It is high time to put an end to all this mollesse and this sentimentality. ”
