The family of Vogue is a former family originating in the Vivarais. Its patronym comes from the ground of Vogüé close to Aubenas (Ardèche). It also has for an unmemorable time the ground of Rochecolombe, under the name of which it was sometimes indicated formerly.

The family has as a currency: Sola vel voce leones terreo ( I frighten the lions of only one cry ). She carries: of azure to the gold cock, the opened, bored, crested and ergoté nozzle of mouths .

History

A Bertrand of Vogue is quoted as of 1084: jointly with his Bermonde wife and her sons Jean and Raymond, it contributed to found the monastery of Saint Martin's day of City-God.

A Raymond of Vogüé belonged to the Third crusade (1189 - 1192). In 1256, Raymond de Vogüé, lord of Vogue and Rochecolombe, marries Guillelme de Laudun. Another Raymond de Vogüé, quoted in 1292, wife Mascoude de Senneterre.

Pierre de Vogüé, quoted in 1461 and 1503, wife Marguerite Bernard. Their son Antoine of Vogue, lord of Lanas, marries Jeanne de Caissac. Their son Jean de Vogüé marries in 1507 Gabrielle de Caires d' Entraigue. They have a son, Guillaume de Vogüé, who marries in 1558 Antoinette de Galiens of Issarts. They have two wire:

  1. Nickel silver of Vogue which marries in 1597 Dorothée de Montfaucon: their son Georges de Vogüé, baillif of Vivarais, marries in 1635 François de Grimoard of Roure. Authors of the branch of the marquis de Vogüé, they have as Melchior wire of Vogue, marquis de Vogüé and baillif of Vivarais, which marries in 1667 Gabrielle de Motier de Champetières, from where is resulting Cérice François de Vogüé (1683 - 1739), baron d' Aubenas and of Vogue by letters patent of 1713 (See family tree going down below).

  2. Louis de Vogüé, which marries in 1605 Marguerite of the Rainwash, rams of Gourdan. They are the authors of the branch known as “of Gourdan”.

Charles François Elzéar de Vogüé (1713 - 1782) was titrated baron in 1731 and reached the grandess of Spain, but the elder branch carries the title of marquis de Vogüé . In the branch junior, Louis François Charles of Vogue (1769 - 1839) was confirmed hereditary baron-par in 1824, but the title of count de Vogüé is usually carried. In the branch known as of Gourdan, one carries the title of Viscount of Vogue . All these titles are of courtesy, but the family proved her chivalrous extraction until in 1256, and satisfied the evidence for the Honneurs of the Court the August 10th 1763 and January 25th 1770.
