The family of Trémoille (also written of Trémouille ) is a princely family French. She knew her more famous members at the end of the Moyen-âge and with the Renaissance.

Guy (noted V in the genealogies), born towards the 1315, deceased on August 18th, 1350 with Loudun, husband of Radegonde de Guénard, of which:
  • Guy (noted VI ), said Valiant the , lord of Jonvelle, born in 1346, died with Rhodos in 1397, married in 1382 with Marie de Sully, princess of Boisbelle, girl of Louis and Isabelle de Craon, of which:
    • Jean (1377-1449), lord of Jonvelle, married on July 17th, 1424 with Jacqueline d' Amboise, girl of Ingerger II and Jeanne de Craon.
    • Georges , courtier, born in 1382/1385 (date dubious) and died in 1446, takes part in the Praguerie.
  • Guillaume , deceased in 1397, married in 1374 in Marie of Mello, girl of Guy and Agnès de Cléry.

15th century

Children of the marriage of July 2nd, 1425, Georges (1382 or 1385 - 1446), and of Catherine of Isle Bouchard girl of Jean and Jeanne de Bueil:
  • Georges of Trémoille (1427-1481) , lord de Craon, lieutenant of Louis XI.

François of Trémoille , born in 1505 and died in 1541.

Louis III of Trémoille , his/her son, born in 1521 and died in 1577, prince of Talmont and Tarente, count of Taillebourg and Benon, lord of Gençay, took part in the wars of religion.

Claude of Trémoïlle , wire of the precedent, born in 1566 and died in 1604, duke of Thouars and Trémoille, prince de Talmont and of Tarente, count de Laval, of Taillebourg and Benon, was a comrade in arms of Henri IV.

17th century

Henri III of Trémoïlle , (December 22nd 1598, Thouars - January 21st 1674, Thouars), duke of Thouars, duke of Trémoille, prince of Talmont and Tarente, count of Laval (Mayenne), of Montfort, Taillebourg and Benon, and baron of Quintin.

Charles Belgium Holland of Trémoille , (1655 - Den Haag, $the Hague - June 1st 1709, Paris), duke of Thouars, even of France, duke of Trémoille, prince of Tarente, count of Laval (Mayenne), of Montfort and Benon.

Charles Louis Brittany of Trémoille , duke of Trémoille and even Thouars, of France, carries out a military career where it is distinguished and completed with the rank of Brigadier armies of the king in 1715.

Joseph-Emmanuel of Trémoille (? † January 8th 1720) abbot of Lagny, creates cardinal the May 17th 1706 by Clément XI, bishop of Bayeux (January 1716 - April 1716), then archbishop of Cambric (April 1716 - January 10th 1720). Ambassador in Rome of Louis XIV in 1706.

18th century

Charles Armand Rene of Trémoille , duke of Trémoille and Thouars, even of France, prince de Tarente, born the January 14th 1708. It is at 18 years Colonel regiment of Champagne, and is distinguished with the Bataille from Guastalla. It is named sergeant of the armies of the king. Author, it is elected with the French Academy.

Jean Brittany Charles Godefroy of Trémoille , duke of Thouars, count de Laval and of Beaufort, born the February 5th 1737 and died in 1792 emigrated in Chambéry. It begins its military career with the Guerre Seven Year old and is distinguished with the combat from Crevelt (1756), where it charges with the head with the Régiment with Aquitaine-Cavalry. It is wounded and promoted afterwards with the rank of sergeant then of brigadier of the armies of the king. He emigrates in 1789.

Antoine-Philippe of Trémoïlle , born the September 27th 1765 in Paris and dead the January 27th 1794 with Laval, made the Guerre of the Vendée as regards catholic and royal army. Prince-general of the Vendean cavalry, it was decapitated in Laval in 1794 according to P. of Courcy.
