The family of Montlhéry is a branch junior by the house of Montmorency. Bouchard Ier, deceased in 958, had two wire:

• Bouchard II Bearded the, to which it king Robert II gave the ground of Montmorency,
• Thibaud de Montlhéry known as File Packs

Its descendants acquired the grounds of Rochefort and Montlhéry. This family was quickly close to the royal capacity, but of the disgraces caused by rival houses, as well as temperaments of lords brigands, led to their elimination by Louis VI the Large.

The Crusade S

By their alliances, Montlhéry-Rochefort are related with many knights who illustrated themselves in Holy Land:

• Mélisente, woman of Hugues de Rethel, is mother of Baudouin II, count d' Edesse, king de Jérusalem
• His Elisabeth sister is mother of Josselin Ier de Courtenay, count d' Edesse
• their sister Alix, woman of Hugues de Puiset, is the mother of Galéran of Puiset, governor of the county of Édesse and Hugues Ier, count de Jaffa

Guy Trousseau also took part in the crusades.

The chronology of the first generations let think that it misses one of them, but there can have been two Thibaud, a father and a son, which were confused thereafter.
