History of the family

Their origin is badly known. According to some, they were parents and vassal counts of Geneva. The family of Faucigny gave her name to the castle, with the commune and with an old province of the duchy of Savoie.
Vers 1200 Aymon II of Faucigny settles with the castle of Châtillon, whose position in the center of the province, allowed him a better administration of its possessions.
