Family of Crillon
Family of Crillon
To the 12th century Crillon-the-Brave man belonged to lords of Astouaud; those sold it in 1456 with Louis de Berton, grandfather of famous the Crillon and resulting from the famous family of the Balbes de Chieri in Piedmont, which had come to be established in France; the descendants of Louis de Berton carried since the name of Crillon.
The seigniory was set up in duchy in 1725. II is not necessary to confuse this duchy with a second duchy of Crillon set up at the 17th century in favor of François Felix de Crillon, resulting from a branch junior by the same family.
