Family of Boufflers

The family of Boufflers is a French aristocratic family originating in Picardy.

Duchy of Boufflers

The duchy-peerage of Boufflers is set up in 1708 starting from the duchy of Boufflers, made up in 1695 starting from the county of Cagny, of the grounds of Bonnières, Haucourt, Vrocourt (partly), Buicourt, of a third of the châtellenie of Milly, memberships and dependences.

In 1700, following an exchange with the King, the duchy of Boufflers is supplemented remainder of the châtellenie of Milly, and ground of Vrocourt, as well as grounds of Moimont, Courroy, Foulloy, the Court of Auneuil (partly) and Lhéraule, and stronghold of Potel, memberships and dependences.

  1. 1695 - 1711: Louis François de Boufflers (1644 - 1711), 1st duke of Boufflers;

  2. 1711 - 1747: Joseph Marie de Boufflers (1706 - 1747), wire of the precedent, 2nd duke of Boufflers;
  3. 1747 - 1751: Charles Joseph de Boufflers (1731 - 1751), wire of the precedent, 3rd and last duke of Boufflers.
