Family of Beaumont
The family Norman of the Beaumont , belonged to the baronniales big families Anglo-Norman which were enracinèrent in England after the conquest Norman.
Roger de Beaumont, lord of Pont-Audemer, Beaumont, Brionne and Vatteville, did not fight with Hastings, because it was too old, but it remained in Normandy to control and protect the county during the invasion.
It receives grounds in the Leicestershire. His/her son Robert de Beaumont, Count de Meulan, which ordered the right wing with the Bataille of Hastings, became 1st Count de Leicester. His/her brother Henri de Beaumont was created Count de Warwick.
During the reign of Etienne of England, the twins Galéran and Robert were powerful allies of the king. Galéran, already Count de Meulan was made Count de Worcester.
Beaumont were very listened advisers of the dukes of Normandy, then kings of England.
