Family Compo

Family Compo is a Manga of Tsukasa Hōjō, whose original title is: F.COMPO (ファミリーコンポ, famirīkonpo ), in fourteen volumes, all published in France by Tonkam.

Summary of the history

With died of his/her father, Masahiko Yanagiba known as Giba discovers the existence of a branch of its family, that of the brother of her mother, Sora Wakanaé, with his wife Yukari Wakanaé and their daughter Shion Wakanaé. Guests on their premises, it settles in a family all that it usually seems… Until the day when he discovers that his/her uncle is a woman, and his/her aunt a man! As for Shion, Giba is unaware of if it is really a girl… Moreover its album of photographs of class the watch one year as a girl and the following year as a boy!

Set of themes

Tsukasa Hōjō treats Travestissement, topic which appeared sporadically in its preceding works like City Hunter or Cat' S Eye (female characters disguising themselves as men or being taken for men, and reciprocally).

  • 1st day: First experiments of the life of “family”
Masahiko, orphan of mother since the six years age, lost his/her father one month ago. It then receives the visit of his aunt Yukari Wakanaé, the wife of the brother of her mother, Sora Wakanaé. This one invites it to the evening of birthday of their daughter, in their house of the district of Toyoshima, with Tōkyō.

On the way, it meets an young girl with a level crossing, which shows the way to him. In fact it is about Shion, the girl of Wakanaé.

  • 2nd day: One night torrid…

While arriving to Wakanaé, Giba is very touched by the reception which is made to him, especially when Sora offers its first family photo to him! However, the evening is rather sprinkled, and arrives what was to arrive: Giba discovers that Sora is a woman and Yukari a man! That causes him such a shock that he disappears and forgets all of it.
