Familia (film, 2005)

Familia is the first feature-length film Québécois of Louise Archambault left on big screens the September 16th 2005. It lasts one hour and forty-two minutes (1h42).

Synopsis

Michele, mother single-parent of Marguerite (14 year old teenager), must leave employment, joint and residence because of her dependence to the games of chance and the debts which accumulate consequently. It aterrit thus in his/her best friend of childhood, Janine, itself mother of a 13 year old teenager, Gabrielle, and of a 8 year old little boy. Whereas a friendly relation is tied between the two teenager, the two mothers must face their demons. The first suffers unconscious from its problems of dependence, the other of the distance of her husband. The differences between the two methods of education of the children between the host and the temporary tenant will force the revealing of these problems at the great day. In the mediums of all that, two teenagers who live with difficulty the yoke of their respective mothers.
