Famed

Fames is the Roman goddess of the hunger. It is comparable with Éthon of the Greek Mythologie.
According to Ovide, it and Déméter, being completely opposed, cannot meet. Thus, when Déméter required of him to punish Érysichthon, the goddess of harvests had to send a nymph to the meeting the Famed ones. She would live then in an icy desert, in Scythie, where also the Cold, the Shiver and the Paleness would be.
According to Virgile she would live in the Hadès in company of Poverty. Famed is represented as an old woman who has only the skin on the bones and which excavates the ground in the search of food.
