The autumn is one of the four Saison S of the moderate zones. It is placed between the be and the Hiver.
Astronomically, it starts with the autumnal equinox and finished to the Winter solstice.
This period corresponds to the Mois of September, October and November in the northern Hemisphere and of March, April and May in the Southern hemisphere.
In the republican Calendar French, the autumn is the first season of the year and includes/understands the months of Vendémiaire, Brumaire and Frimaire.
In certain areas (Canada in particular), a rise in temperature of approximately a week occurs during the season of autumn and the temperature rises at the point to recall one day of summer. For this reason, this short period is called “ summer of Saint-Martin ” in Europe or “ Indian Summer or be of Indiens ” with the Canada.
