Fall-with-Bustards

Fall-with-Bustard is a village Quebec located in the regional Municipalité of county of Manicouagan and in the administrative area of the Coast-North.

History

As of 1910, the settlement of this village is due to the rise of forest industry and the creation of a first power station Hydroélectrique during the years 1923 - 1950, Outardes 1 (the latter being now unused), as well as the power station Outardes 2 during the years 1970.
The first resident is Alfred Labbé, originating in Saint-Éphrem-with-Beauce which was installed on the site between 1905 and 1908. He did not obtain, however, his ticket of hiring that in 1923 on behalf of the government.

In 1943, the village is partially destroyed by a fire which will carry 20 of the 30 houses, as well as the two schools. Fortunately, no human loss of life with is deplored.

Economy

The majority of employment is located in the town of Bay-Comeau, or in the close villages like Ragueneau and Point-with-Bustard. However, a factory of transformation of fish ensures of seasonal local employment.

Moreover, several trade serve the municipalities of the peninsula Manicouagan (Ragueneau, Point-with-Bustard and Pessamit) starting from Fall-with-Bustard (Pharmacie, Quincaillerie, butchery, etc).
