Falcon-with-Barcelonnette is a common French, located in the department of the Alp-of-High-Provence and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.

Its inhabitants is called Fauconnais.

Geography

To 1211 meter, Faucon is the oldest village of the Vallée of Ubaye. A little with the variation the road D900, it is to 7 km of Jausiers.

History

  • the Romans were the first inhabitants of Falcon whose one could prove the establishment (tombs). However, it is probable that the Esubiens preceded there.
  • At the 17th century, the village by was twice destroyed by a fire, in 1628 and 1691
  • Anciennement attached to Barcelonnette, Faucon became a commune in 1790.
