In the work of J.R.R. Tolkien, Falas is an area of Beleriand which was inhabited by the Falathrim (elves liking the sea) and directed by Cirdan. The Falathrim were the first elves to build ships out of Valinor. The main ports, Brithombar and Eglarest, resisted a long time but were destroyed by Morgoth during the war of the jewels during the first age. The Falathrim fled towards the island of Balar.
