Falabella
The Falabella is a Poney by its size and small a Cheval by its origins. Its Race was most probably created by the crossing of a small Thorough-bred with Shetlands.
History of the race
This race was creates in the Hacienda Reero de Roca, located close to Buenos Aires in Argentine, by the Falabella family at the end of the 19th century. It is resulting from crossings between small small thorough-breds and shetlands. The descendants were crossed between them, in order to emphasize the Gène dominating giving the small size, but making it more fragile.
Although it resembles a miniature horse, it is too often regarded as a pet. However its physical force and its characteristics require minimal equestrian knowledge.
During this process, the reduction in the size was done with the costs of the force and the robustness. Current Falabella completely lost the strength which he had inherited in the beginning his Shetlands ancestors.
Characteristics
