Faithful François Ripaud de Montaudevert
Faithful François Ripaud de Montaudevert , is a Corsaire French, born with Saffré (Loire-Atlantique) the May 25th 1755, and dead the February 23rd 1814 with Bayonne. It is famous for its races in the Indian Ocean.
Biography
He is the son of Master Jacques Louis Ripaud, sior of Montaudevert, notary and prosecutor of this châtellenie, and of young lady Francoise Bernardeau her wife.-
1766 Loading in Nantes on the Palm tree at the 11 years age like foam. Crossing towards Marseilles and Santo Domingo.

1784 It Marie the January 20th 1784, with Saint-Denis of the Meeting, with Jeanne Francoise Bouyer, downward colonists of the island Bourbon. The household settles with Saint-Andrew.

1793 Ripaud obtains a Lettre of mark and the subscriptions necessary to arm the Volcano for the race. In spite of competition with the armaments carried out in the island of France, it succeeds in gathering a crew of 148 men. Its first lieutenant is Jean-Marie Dutertre of Port-Louis which will become later the follower and the rival of Robert Surcouf.

1814 It is mortally wounded the February 23rd 1814, on board the Sapho which it ordered, at the time of the seat of Bayonne (Yrénées-Atlantiques).
