Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO) is an association of 20 equitable initiatives of certification located in more than 21 country.

20 associations members FLO are located in Germany, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Suisse, the United States.

The objective of FLO and its members is to promote and facilitate equitable consumption in North with an aim of allowing to the Sustainable development marginalized producers of the South.

In January 2004, in order to ensure the independence of the process of certification and adherence the standards ISO 65, Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International was divided into two distinct organizations:

• International FLO e.V. , whose role is to establish the standards of the Equitable trade, to assist the producers through the process of certification and in research of markets for their products and finally, in collaboration with its associations members, to lay off the use of the mark of certification of the Equitable trade.
• FLO-CERT GMBH , whose role is to inspect and certify the eligible producers and importers in order to check if the standards of the Equitable trade are respected strictly.

In 2005, the product sales labellized by the members of FLO represented 1,125 billion euros on the whole, an increase of 37% compared to 2004.
