Fairmount Park is a system of municipal parks located at Philadelphia with the the United States. It is managed by Fairmount Park Commission. In 1876, Fairmount Park was selected to accommodate the World Fair, the Centennial Exposition . One also finds there the oldest zoo of the country, a arboretum, the center of horticulture of the city, the Memorial Hall and tens of statues. It is especially known for the principal museum of the city, the Philadelphia Museum off Art. It was registered on the National Register off Historic Places in 1972.
