Failures janus
The failures janus are an alternative or fairy-like failures of the traditional Jeu of failures which adds a new named part janus and which combines displacements of the riding and of the Fou.
The set of failures consists of a grid of 8 by 10 boxes, Janus being placed between the rider and the insane one. The name Janus comes from the Roman God Janus and from its chart in two opposite faces of face.
To note that this new part is the only one which makes it possible to put the adversary failure and chechmate at it only without the assistance of other parts.
This play was invented in 1978 by Werner Schöndorf of Bildstock in Germany. He is relatively played in Europe. Certain large Masters practice it, such Viktor Korchnoi, Peter Lékó and Artur Yusupov.
