Fagaceae

The family of the Fagacées is a family of plants Dicotylédone S which includes/understands approximately 900 Espèce S divided into 8 kind S:

They are trees or shrubs, some with persistent sheets, cold, moderate or subtropical areas. One meets them on all the continents safe in tropical and southern Africa. Among fagacées one counts in the moderate areas the Hêtre S ( Fagus ), the Chêne S ( Quercus ) and the Châtaignier S ( Castanea ).

The oaks, beeches and chestnuts provide wood for construction and furnishing, the chestnuts an edible fruit. Oaks and chestnuts are rich in Tanin S.

The kind Nothofagus included in this family by certain authors is again regarded as belonging to a particular family the Nothofagacée S.
