Factor-X

Factor-X ( X-Factor in the original version) is a team of superman pertaining to the universe of fiction of Marvel Comics whose adventures were the subject of several series.

Since its starting in 1986, the series was stopped then started again on several occasions, with each time a different team of superman. The members of Factor-X are a frankness from the famous team X-Men.

The first team launched in 1986, was trained of the five first X-Men.

In 1991, the members of origins were reincorporated in the regular series. The second series corresponds then to a Cabinet made up of several secondary heroes of mythology X-Men. It was stopped in 1998.

In 2006, a new series Factor-X is launched, making following X-Factor Investigations.

Origins (1986-1991)

The first version was made up of the first X-Men, when the latter wanted to be detached from the Professor Xavier and the new team of X-Men, by starting their life of adult.

Their objective was to deal with young mutants. They involved: Big Bang, Rictor, Skids, Rusty Hakes, Artie and the Leech.

Important facts

  • Angel had the wings mutilated by the Petty thieves at the time of the " Mutant Massacres ". It tried to commit suicide but was captured by Apocalypse which changed it into Archangel, its angel of the Mort.

  • Factor-X fought against demons during the episode " Inferno ". The clone of Jean Grey, Madelyne Pryor, tried to kill the young person wire whom it had had with Cyclops. X-men came to the rescue and the latter, become insane, was killed.

  • On the basis of lunar Apocalypse, Cyclops and Jean Grey were constrained to send Nathan, the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Prior, in the future to survive the virus techno-organics which corroded it. Nathan then became the mutant known one under the name of Cable.

Factor X, Cabinet

The second version of Factor-X was an government agency, supposed to alleviate the relations between human and mutant.

It included/understood:

  • Havok the brother of Cyclops

  • Polaris
  • Félina Scottish the
  • Hefty fellow
  • Madrox, the Man-Multiple
  • Quicksilver, the son of Magneto

The mutant Forge was added thereafter to the team, which was combined sometimes with the mercenary Random, with the service of Dark Beast.

The series was very popular thanks to its humor and owing to the fact that the characters, of the heroes of second zone at the base, gave life to a deep background.

With its end, Félina joined Excalibur in England, Malabar was seriously wounded at the time of an attack and Jamie died of the Virus Legacy (it was in fact one of its clones). Havok left to infiltrate a team of terrorists.

The government imposed the presence of Mystique then of Dents of Saber, the sister of Bishop, Shard then the shape of condensed photons joined the team with Wild Child.

Factor X, the third version

The third version did not last very a long time…

The team included/understood:

  • Forging mill, from now on the leader

  • Polaris
  • Wild Child, a defector of the Division Alpha
  • Shard, a hologram of the sister of Bishop
  • the Mystical métamorphe
  • the assassin Tooth-of-saber

These two last, enemies of X-Men, were constrained to belong to the team. But Forge did not want to form part of it any more. Wild Child known an serious attack of change. Mystic and Tooth-of-saber benefitted from it to flee. They made accept the government with their death in order to recover their freedom.

Factor X, the team of investigations

A new series Factor-X is in hand (and published in France)

Following the events of the mini-series Madrox , Jamie Madrox formed in full heart of Mutant Town an agency of named detective X-Factor Investigations, with Malabar and Félina (the latter had just left its station of tutor at Xavier). Monet (M), Cyrène and Rictor (from now on without being able) joined the trio. As well as a mysterious fair young girl, Layla Miller, which off leaves reality House M and can predict the future…

Their adventures are the subject of a new series X-Factor scenarized by Peter David and illustrated by Ryan Sook. The #5 is illustrated by Dennis Calero.
