Faced (Cape Verde)

Brava is a volcanic island located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, it is more the inhabited small island of the Cape Verde. Occupied as from the years 1540, its population increases after the eruption in 1675 of the Fogo Mount on the island close to Fogo.

The economic main activities of the island are agriculture and fishing. The island lays out of schools, a college, a gymnasium, churches, of park of which one of them in honor with the famous musician Eugene Tavares.

energy

The island of Faced is fed in electricity by a thermo plant having 3 generators. The Gasoil necessary to their food is imported by sea route. An electrical communication serves the dwellings of the villages of the island as well as the pumping stations of the water, used for domestic water and the irrigation of the cultures.

The island of Faced is completely isolated from the other islands of the archipelago from an energy point of view, and its airport is closed since 2004. It is thus strongly dependant on its fuel imports per boat.
