Face office (economy)

In a finance company (banks, insurance, purse), the trading rooms are often organized around three poles:

  • the face office (in French: counter ), itself gathering two tables ( desks in the jargon):

    • the operators of market (the traders ), which have the relation with the market, provide quotations to the market and with the commercial team, take positions and manage the risks;
    • the commercial (also called Sales or Marketers ), which manage the relations with the customers, establish the link between the requests expressed by those and the existing financial products and propose financial solutions;
  • the back office (in French: back-office ) deals with the administrative treatments related to the operations of market or with the customers

  • when the volume of activity is important, there exists a Middle office
