Face-Loretz is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.

Geography

It is located at 15 km of Thouars and Montreuil-Bellay.

History

The mention of Face-Loretz is rather old and shows a certain evolution. It appears:

First of all in 1227 in the cartulaire of Chambon under the term of Bollei Lorez
In 1300 pennies the term of Boylle-Loherez (large-Gauthier)
In 1440 pennies the term of Face-Loeraz (files V.H. 308)
In 1527 pennies the term of St-Pierre of Face-Louretz
In 1585 pennies the term of Face-Loretz
the term of Face-Loray appears in high conceded justice on December 17th, 1649, concerned with Thouars, strongholds of the Viscount of Thouars.

During the old mode, the parish of Face-Loretz, to the steps of the Poitou and Anjou, was attached to the baronnie Montreuil-Bellay and with the seneschalsy of Saumur but it was also related on the Viscount and the deanery of Thouars. In 1750, there were 250 hearts (cartulaire alph. of Poitiers - Hist. de Thouars).

After the Revolution, the commune was attached to the department of the Two-Sevres in 1790.

Wine capital of the Two-Sevres, specialized out of Wines AOC " Anjou" : white, rosy of Anjou and rosy of the Loire, Cabernets and Reds of Anjou.

Activities

Common to strong agricultural activity, it is distinguished in particular from the other communes of the department by its Vin. Its Vignoble S belongs to the zone of name AOC Anjou.

Presence of an industrial activity in particular in the building with a factory dedicated to concrete constructions to carry out shelters of garden or garages (ALTA constructions) and a factory manufacturing of joineries and closings PVC (G. Martin). There is also a company of bus (Rousselot Voyages).
