Fabrice Neaud

Fabrice Neaud , born the December 17th 1968, with La Rochelle, is a French artist. He is in particular author of Cartoon.

Biography

After a baccalaureat Letters option Visual arts and Deug of philosophy, it continues its studies with the Art schools until in 1991.

Fabrice Neaud nourishes then an autobiographical project of Cartoon which will give place to the publication of Journal (1) in 1996 by the editor Ego like X, of which it is one of the members cofounders. This work will obtain the price Alph' Art “Very favorite” with the International festival of the cartoon of Angouleme in 1997. Its autobiographical project - work falling under one duration whose author has liked to recall that it should coincide with that of its life (extracted the site of the editions) - knows since a periodicity of publication of approximately two years (last delivery in 2002), stopped for four years but which should begin again in 2007. New accounts are also appeared in the collective éponyme of the publisher ego like X like in the review Bananas .

By its width and its artistic ambition, the work of Fabrice Neaud is one of the most singular steps of the history of the cartoon. It received the Special price for the Georges literary prize in 2000 for Journal (III) , as well as the price the Petit Robert in 2002 for the whole of its work, at the time of the Festival of Saint-Malo.

Between May 2005 and January 2006, Fabrice Neaud behind the pseudonym of Augustin held a blog on Internet, heading Of the withdrawal of the world . The publication in collection, under the title the withdrawal of the world had been announced in the Littérature collection of Ego as X in January 2007… but seems from now on deferred sine die .

    Its topicality

    In 3rd and last number of the Test-tube (Association, January 2007), a dialog of 20 pages entitled Autopsy of the autobiography between Jean-Christophe Menu and Fabrice Neaud, where this last evokes the difficulties present, at the same time of his own creation, and of the " genre" that it largely contributed to popularize: the autobiographical cartoon.
