Fabrice Brégier is leading of company French, currently managing director (Chief Operating Officer - COO) of Airbus. It forms with the executive president (CEO) Louis Gallois the office of the presidency of Airbus, within the group EADS. He is also member of the executive committee of the group EADS.

Formation

Born the July 16th 1961 with Dijon (Coast-with Or), Fabrice Brégier is graduate Polytechnic school (promotion 1980) and School of the Mines of Paris; he is chief engineer of the Corps of the Mines.

Professional path

Fabrice Brégier began his career in industry: as engineer of tests to the nuclear plant of Creys-Malville in 1983, then like sales manager at Pechiney in Japan since 1984.

In 1986, it joined DRIRE of Alsace, before being appointed director of the economic affairs and financial to the ministry for Agriculture. One year later, it is named adviser technical with the cabinet of the Ministry for the Foreign trade, then adviser technical with the cabinet of the ministry for the Posts and Télécommunications.

In 1993, it joined the group Matra Défense as a director of several programs. With the beginning of the year 1998, Fabrice Brégier is named chairman and managing director of the group Matra British Aerospace Dynamics, of which it ensures in particular the international regrouping (French, British and Italian), between aerospatiale Matra, British Aerospace and Finmeccanica, to make of it the manufacturer of missiles leader in Europe since 2001. He is then chairman and managing director (CEO) of the group MBDA. In 2003, Fabrice Brégier reaches the presidency of the group Eurocopter, where it succeeds Jean-François Bigay. He becomes also member of the executive committee of the group EADS in June 2005.

Between 2003 and 2006, the position of the group Eurocopter did not cease being reinforced, so much on the civil market and paracivil, of which he is the leader, that on the military market. The Turnover of the group passed from 2,6 to 3,8 billion euros over this period, and should reach the 4 billion euros in 2007.

In October 2006, whereas the group EADS carries out a reorganization of Airbus, following the difficulties of the program A380, Fabrice Brégier is named delegated general director (COO) of Airbus.

At the sides of Louis Gallois, which cumulates the functions of French executive copresident of EADS and executive president (CEO) of Airbus, Fabrice Brégier is then charged to undertake the program of reorganization Power 8. The objectives of this program are in particular a reduction of the costs, a saving in treasury and a faster development of the programs.

In July 2007, the new flow chart of EADS, resulting from the reform of the bicephalous governorship of the European group, confirms Fabrice Brégier in his functions of managing director (COO) of Airbus. As of on August 27th, 2007, it will form the office of the presidency of Airbus with Thomas Enders. This last, previously German executive copresident of EADS, becomes executive president (CEO) of Airbus; whereas Louis Gallois becomes the single executive president (CEO) of EADS.
