FOX (cryptography)
FOX is a family of algorithms of symmetrical Chiffrement (i.e. “with secret key” ) per blocks conceived by Pascal Junod and Serge Vaudenay, it was published in 2003 but its design began in 2001.
FOX64 uses a size of block of 64 bits and a key of 128 bits. FOX128 uses a block of 128 bits and a key of 256 bits. In May 2005, FOX was presented by the company Mediacrypt - which has the patent on IDEA - under the name IDEA NXT . FOX takes again certain principles present in IDEA of which the Schéma of Lay-Massey, a structure which resisted an intensive cryptanalyse.
FOX is an algorithm patented by Mediacrypt and from now on presented under the name of IDEA NXT.
