FIEP

FIEP (for France Italy Spain Portugal of the name of the first adherent countries) is an association gathering different police force to military statute or Gendarmerie S from euro-Mediterranean space

It was founded in 1994 by the French National police, the arms with the Italian police officers and the Spanish Civil guard to which united 2 years later the republican National guard Portuguese in 1996, then by the Turkish gendarmerie in 1998, the royal Maréchaussée Dutchwoman, the Moroccan royal Gendarmerie in 1999 and the Rumanian Gendarmerie in 2002.

At the end of 2005, the Argentinian gendarmerie and the police officers of Chile became associated members of association.

The goals of the FIEP are to promote a new reflection on the police co-operations and to develop their organisational specificity towards outside.

A superior council gathering the directors and general commanders of the various institutions members meets annually at the time of a top organized by the force taking the presidency and diiférentes technical commissions:

  • commission " human resources "
  • commission " organization of the service "
  • commission " new technologies and logistic "
  • commission " European businesses " (which has the effect of gathering the institutions whose countries are members of the European Union)

Although accepting nonEuropean members, it is on Europe that the FIEP seeks to be made recognize:

  • like a forum and a structure of police co-operation.
  • to take part in work on the definition and the creation of a European police force being able to be implemented in the event of regional crisis in Europe.

To this end, association names for a 3 years mandate, a person who is used as " not contact" with the European institutions.
