FGF S for fibroblast growth Factor (growth factor of the fibroblasts) is a family of 22 proteins identified to date at the man. In fact Protéine S activate the migration and the multiplication of target cells. These factors are generally secreted by Fibroblaste S. the most important role of the fibroblasts, cells of conjunctive fabric, is to maintain the extracellular Matrice fabrics conjontifs, and to repair the lesions due to a traumatism. They are also used to control the organization and the Différenciation of the cells of surrounding fabrics.

The mechanism of action of FGFs, on their target cells, passes by their connection has receivers specific to the surface of the cells. These receivers in FGFs (FGFR) set up a group of molecules able to receive signals of outside and to transmit them inside the cell and to induce many secondary cellular messages. These receivers generally have an activity Tyrosine kinase in their intracellular field.
