The Fußball-Club Sankt Pauli is a German general sports club , based with Hamburg and very popular for its team of Football, which evolves/moves in Championnat of Germany of football D2 (season 2007/08).
According to the statute of the club and the payment of the stage the FC St Pauli is a sporting club antifascist and antiracist. It is chaired by Corny Littmann, owner and actor of a theater-cabaret ( Schmidt Theater and Schmidts Tivoli ) close to famous the Reeperbahn with Hamburg-St. Pauli and homosexual asserted.

The football team of the FC Sankt Pauli evolved/moved with the more national high level during 33 seasons.Between the wars: Gauliga

After the Second world war: Oberliga
During the first two seasons after the release, there was no championship of Germany. Since 1947/48 existed five groups regional and semi-professionals in the Federal Republic of Germany, whose two teams of each group disputed in a final stage of after-season the championship of Germany (Western).- 1945 to 1947 in Stadtliga Hamburg - better placement: 1er (1947); St Pauli gives up the participation in the championship of the British zone of occupation
- 1947 to 1963 in Northern Oberliga - better placement: 2nd (1948, 1950,1951,1954); semi-finalist in final stage main road 1948
Since 1963: 1. Bundesliga
Professional championship with single hen, since 1990/91 (after the German Reunification) with the clubs of ex-GDR.- 1977/78: 18th, but with a victory outside (2: 0) against the large local rival, the Hamburg SV
- 1988/89: 10th, better placement of the history of the FC in Bundesliga

- 1990/91: 16th, relegated after stoppings
- 1995/96: 15th, after the first day the FC remains classification at the head (for only one week)

- 2002/03: 18th, but with a victory (2: 1) against Bayern Munich; the club is called on top " Weltpokalsiegerbesieger" (winner of the winner of the Intercontinental Cut).
FC today
At the end of season 2002/03 the FC Sankt Pauli was completely sifted debts. Being threatened to deposit the assessment and to be retrograde D4, the supporters, sections of the club, local companies thus the press of Hamburg and some clubs pros had decided to save the club while launching a giant financing campaign: 120.000 shirts with the colors of the printed club " Retter" (rescuer) fûrent sold by volunteers and some celebrities with the price of 15€. Out of Cut, the FC Sankt Pauli was qualified by surprised for the semi-final by beating the clubs of Wacker Burghausen (D2, 3:2 a.p.), VfL Bochum (D2, 4:0), Hertha BSC Berlin (D1, 4:3 a.p.) and Werder Bremen (D1, 3:1); in semi-final the club lost against Bayern of Munich, holder of the title, on the score of 3-0.
Since December 2006 the Stage Millerntor aggrandit gradually: the southern turn is already cut down and the stage will reach the maximum capacity of 15.500 spectators. The end of work for the southern turn is planned for January 2008, in 2009 for the northern platform, 2011 for the Gegengerade and 2014 for the platform " principale". Half of the Millerntor will remain a stage upright as the supporters had required it.
At the conclusion of the season the 2006-2007 FC Sankt Pauli will finish champion of D3 and will reach the Bundesliga 2 German.

Rugby
The men play in 2. Bundesliga (Northern hen) , the team female even in 1. Bundesliga . The women gained the championship of Germany seven times (1995, 2000,2001,2003,2005,2006 and 2007). Several women also play for the national team female. Although Rugby in Germany has neither the importance nor strength as in the anglophone countries or France, the rugbymen and especially the rugbywomen form the most crowned section FC Sankt Pauli.
