FAFNER
Factoring via Network-Enabled Recursion ( FAFNER ) (Factorization by recursivity activated by network) going back to 1995 was a project to try to solve the problem of factorization of RSA-130.
It was an effort of sifting by Internet starting from the Cooperating Systems Corporation. Although many human interventions were necessary to distribute and collate the results, this project can be regarded as one of first bearing on the Calcul distributed by Internet, with the image of SETI@home and Distributed.net.
