F1 helmet
The helmet F1 is a Casque used by the sappers Pompier S. It makes it possible to ensure their protection at the time of the interventions and in particular of the Lutte against the fire.
At the end of the Years 1970, the Brigade of firemen of Paris (BSPP), eager to replace its growing old steel helmets, lance an invitation to tender near manufacturing financing the study of a new helmet. It is company CGF Gallet - today MSA Gallet - which of it is charged. After 6 years of studies in collaboration with the BSPP - and 10% of its invested turnover - 1985 sees arriving this helmet at the revolutionary profile which equips since the majority with the firemen in the world. It consists of a cap Thermoplastique, of a cap, chin-straps and of a removable facial screen in the cap. Gilded, this last offers a good protection against the light and the radiation. An ocular screen - removable him also - can offer a protection of the eyes against the glares and the remains. A bavolet, optional but very much used, protects the nape of the neck from the radiation and the glares. Initially covered of a layer of nickel - discussed because of its conducting properties -, the helmet from now on also available is painted or photoluminescent. According to the models, its weight ranges between 1200 and 1400 grams.
In October 1997, Europe launches the standard INTO 443. To satisfy this new standard, 2 years of studies were necessary and led to the new helmets F1, the F1S and F1E.
