F1 Racing Championship
F1 Racing Championship is a Video game of simulation of races of Formule 1, developed by Video System and published by Ubisoft in 2001. Criticized on console, the play becomes the reference as regards simulation of Formula 1 on PC, reviving the place of Grand Prix 3 left a few months before.
Gameplay
The play proposes to control the racing cars of the Championnat of the world of Formula 1 1999, it includes/understands the 22 pilots and the 11 stables under license and the 16 circuits reconstituted by GPS with an unequalled quality hitherto
Critical reception
The play had been enormously awaited at its exit, the previews granted to the journalists were unanimous “the play is announced like the best simulation of F1 ever realized”. Graphics of the play on PC were very advanced, with a modeling by GPS and an excellent depth of field.
Performances
The graphic performances of the play on console are very in on this side those on PC, one observes sometimes decelerations which waste the quality of the play which includes/understands high resolutions of textures, and one made photo-realistic never considering so that one needed a very powerful PC to benefit from it.In parallel, its more solid competitor, Grand Prix 3 , definitely less graphically succeeded does not pose these problems what explains than the play F1 Racing Championship was not very well sold.
Other defect come to supplement this explanation:
- to benefit fully from the play, a wheel is obligatory.
- the artificial intelligence is rather bad so that at the time of a race the player must give up because a latecomer did not deviate from the road or than it slowed down too early/late.
Anecdote
The play remains a reference for a small circle of élitistes elected officials, the play being a nearly perfect simulation. Certain rumors affirmed besides that pilots of formula 1 involved themselves on this play.
